Three Oaks Marina To Open This Weekend
Fishing boats will be available to rent at the marina, which will be open on weekends in April.
CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — It's almost that time of year again.
The popular Three Oaks Recreation Area in Crystal Lake will soon be opening its marina, swim beach and scuba zone to the public for the summer season.
The marina at Three Oaks is tentatively scheduled to open on Saturday and will be open on weekends — Saturday and Sundays — in April. Boat rentals will be available and the marina will open at 6:30 a.m. and remain open through 10 a.m.

Only fishing boats will be available to rent when the marina first opens, according to a post on the Three Oaks Recreation Area Facebook page.
The entire fleet of boats will become available in May, according to city officials. And the recreation area's scuba zone is set to tentatively open in May, weather permitting.

The Three Oaks swim beach will open for the season on May 25. Open water swim events will be held on Thursdays and Saturdays in June and July, except for July 4 and July 6.
The schedule for open water swim is as follows:
- Saturdays: 7:30 to 9 a.m.
- Thursdays: 6 to 7:30 p.m.
