Three Oaks Swim Beach Closes Due to Bacteria From Flooding
Three Oaks Recreation Area's swim beach closed to the public Thursday, thanks to high bacteria levels tied to recent flooding.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL - Three Oaks Recreation Area's swim beach closed to the public Thursday, thanks to high bacteria levels tied to recent flooding.
"We will be monitoring the beach continuously and hope to reopen as soon as these levels return to normal," Three Oaks representatives said in a community alert. " ... We are very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused."
The center's splash park will remain open.

Reps thanked residents for their understanding, adding that they'll issue a notice once business returns to usual for the sandy epicenter.
Meanwhile, those wanting to visit Three Oaks should look to the RainOut Line app prior to doing so. The platform lists real-time updates for the recreation area's various facets, including its Quarry Cable Park, board house, marina and more.
