Today: Beautiful Day Ahead, Plenty of Fall Activities & Happenings

Thursday, Sept. 26th promises to be a beautiful day.

Happy Thursday Crystal Lake and Cary!

September 26th promises to be a beautiful day - the weather forecast calls for a high of 76 degrees and sunny skies.

Fall is definitely upon us. This week, we have featured several fall-related articles, from recipes to outdoor activities.

If you are looking for a fun, family outing, be sure to check out today's story about the annual Johnny Appleseed Festival scheduled for Saturday in downtown Crystal Lake. The festival draws about 5,000 people every year, and is packed with food, rides, live music and Johnny Appleseed himself.

Another way to celebrate autumn and the vibrant outdoors is by signing up for the Crystal Lake Park District's "Ol' Time Wagon Rides." The ride takes visitors into the deep woods at Sterne's Woods nature preserve on the north side of Crystal Lake. Afterwards, guests can gather around a campfire.

Nothing says fall like pumpkins. Today's "Food on Facebook" story features a recipe for Impossible Pumpkin Pie Cupcakes.

Enjoy & have a great day!
