Week Ahead: Homecoming Week for Cary-Grove and Crystal Lake Central, Zombie Run

It's going to be an action-packed week with Homecoming games, dances and the Zombie run.


Greetings Crystal Lake and Cary Patch readers!

It's going to be one beautiful and busy week!

The forecast calls for summer-like temperatures this week, which should provide optimum float-building weather for students at Cary-Grove and Crystal Lake Central high schools.

Both schools are celebrating the Homecoming week with a football games on Friday, and dances on Saturday, Oct. 5.

The C-G Trojans will host a homecoming parade starting at 9 a.m. Saturday. Crystal Lake Central Tigers will have their parade at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 4. 

And while it's homecoming season, it's also the season for running, and 5K events. 

The Home of the Sparrow is hosting the first-ever Zombie 5K Run, 1 Mile walk this Saturday at Three Oaks Recreation Area in Crystal Lake. Participants can run dressed as a zombie, with the zombies or among the zombies!

The Home of the Sparrow is hosting the Zombie 5K Run, 1 Mile Walk from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Three Oaks Recreation Area, 5517 Route 14, Crystal Lake.

The Home of the Sparrow plans to confine the Living Dead to the restricted Zombie Zone Area, but needs your help in making sure the zombies don’t escape! ''
