Weekend Weather For Crystal Lake, Cary: Where To Cool Off As Temps Soar

CRYSTAL LAKE AND CARY, IL — Don't store away that beach gear just yet. Crystal Lake and Cary-area residents can expect hot temperatures this weekend and as we head into the work week next week.

And while many beaches, pools and splash pads have closed for the summer, there are a couple places we know of in the area you could head out to if you'd like a spot to cool off:

• The Crystal Lake Park District has extended its splash pad hours past Labor Day this year. All splash pads will remain open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through Sunday, September 14, according to the park district. Those splash pads are located at Lakewood Meadows Park, 6904 Haligus Road, Lakewood; Veteran Acres Park, corner of Walkup Road and Route 176, Crystal Lake; and Woodscreek Park, 850 Willow Tree, Crystal Lake.
• The beach at Picnic Grove Park in Fox River Grove is free and open to the public. A narrow stretch of sand stretches along the Fox River and is a frequently busy spot during hot weekend days for boats to stop.

• Saturday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 1pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 88.
• Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 63.
• Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85.
• Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 62.
• Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 85.
