ALGONQUIN AND LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL — Visits and pictures with Santa Claus are treasured traditions for many Algonquin and Lake in the Hills families. In Algonquin and Lake in the Hills, kids have several chances to see jolly old St. Nick in person.

Here are the details:

Downtown Crystal Lake Santa House: Santa will be available for visits throughout the holiday season at the downtown Crystal Lake Santa House from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday and 12 to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Merry Cary Parade: The parade and festival will run from 12 to 3 p.m. in downtown Cary. Petting zoo, pony rides, horse-drawn sleigh rides, hot chocolate bar and coffee, cookie decorating, visits with Santa, visits with "Holiday Grouch," and more. The parade steps off at 3 p.m.

Miracle on Main, Algonquin: The holiday magic will run from 4 to 7 p.m. on Dec. 7. There will be live music and holiday performances followed by the arrival of Santa Claus and the lighting of the tree. There will be live reindeer, annual tree lighting with Santa, trackless train rides, ice sculptures, live musical performances, and more.
