Wind Chill Forecasts Released For McHenry County

Tuesday is expected to be the coldest day of the week for the Chicago area.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — Just how low will temperatures go?

The National Weather Service on Monday afternoon released forecasted minimum wind chill values for the early morning hours of Tuesday, and it looks like McHenry County is expected to have some of the chilliest temperatures in the Chicago area, according to weather predictions.

The hour-by-hour forecasts show wind chill values of -24 degrees expected at 5 a.m. in Woodstock. Crystal Lake is expected to see a minimum wind chill value of -24 degrees at 4 a.m., according to National Weather Service predictions.

The dangerously cold temperatures on Tuesday are expected to be the coldest of the week, according to weather officials. As was the case Monday, near-zero or below-zero wind chills are expected throughout the day on Tuesday.

The extreme cold is expected through Thursday.
