Timing Of 'Hazardous' Ice Storm Changes
A winter weather advisory will take effect 6 p.m. Wednesday and continue through 6 a.m. Thursday.
MCHENRY, LAKE AND KANE COUNTIES, IL — A winter weather advisory will take effect this evening in the Chicago area.
Freezing rain and freezing drizzle is expected between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 6 a.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will become slick and hazardous during the ice storm, weather officials said.

Roadways could become hazardous and drivers should plan on ice road conditions Wednesday evening. Power outages are also possible, according to the National Weather Service.
