Woman, 19, And Boy, 14, Killed In 3-Car Crash: Police

An 18-year-old man was also seriously injured in the collision on Richmond Road at McCullom Lake Road early Monday.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — Two people are dead and a man was seriously injured in a three-vehicle crash in McHenry early Monday, authorities said.

The collision happened when a 2006 Audi A4 was headed south on Richmond Road and was hit by a 2015 Nissan Sentra at the intersection of McCullom Lake Road at about 12:30 a.m. on Monday, according to a news release from the McHenry Police Department.

A third vehicle, a 2003 Toyota Echo that was parked in the 1800 block of Richmond Road, was also hit during the collision, police said. When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found two people lying on the ground, according to a news release from the McHenry Township Fire Protection District.

The two people in the Nissan, a 19-year-old woman and a 14-year-old boy, were both pronounced dead in the collision, police said.

The driver of the Audi, an 18-year-old man, was taken to Northwestern Hospital in McHenry for treatment of serious injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Authorities are asking anyone with information related to the crash to call the criminal investigation division of the McHenry Police Department at 815-363-2599.
