Woman, 73, Killed After Being Hit By Pickup Truck

MCHENRY, IL — An elderly woman was killed after being hit by a vehicle Wednesday morning in McHenry.

The collision happened at about 6:40 a.m. at the intersection of Elm Street and Oak Drive when a 2012 Red GMC Sierra was turning left from southbound Oak Drive to eastbound Elm Street and hit the 73-year-old McHenry woman, according to a news release from the McHenry Police Department.

The woman was taken to Northwestern Hospital in McHenry where she was pronounced dead, according to a news release. The name of the woman has not yet been released.

No one else was injured in the collision. The driver of the GMC, a 37-year-old man, is cooperating with authorities.
