Woman Dies In Drowning In Pool At Home Near Harvard

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — A woman has died in a drowning in an above-ground pool near Harvard, authorities said.

The Harvard Fire Protection District was called to the incident in the 10900 block of White Oaks Road in unincorporated Harvard at about 4:15 p.m. Saturday. When paramedics arrived, they found the woman, who was not breathing, had been removed from the pool.

Deputies and paramedics performed CPR on the woman and initiated "advanced life-saving efforts," according to the news release from the fire protection district.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding the drowning.
