Woman Flown To Hospital After SUV Collides With Semi

WOODSTOCK, IL — A woman was taken by helicopter to a hospital Monday afternoon following a crash near Woodstock.

A semi truck collided with a sports utility vehicle at about 1:05 p.m. at Route 47 and Charles Road in unincorporated Woodstock, according to authorities. When emergency responders arrived at the scene they found the woman pinned inside the SUV.

She was extricated from the vehicle and taken by helicopter to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville in serious condition, according to a news release from the Woodstock Fire/Rescue District.

The driver of the SUV, a male, was evaluated at the scene but was not taken to the hospital. The driver of the semi was not injured.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
