Woman Who Ran Unlicensed Daycare Accused Of Injuring Child: Cops

The incident happened at the unlicensed facility in the 1400 block of Woodscreek Circle in Crystal Lake.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — Authorities have arrested a 61-year-old woman accused of causing injuries to a child, who was under her care at an unlicensed child care facility in Crystal Lake.

Police took Ann Migliorato into custody this past week. She has been charged with aggravated battery to a child and operating a child care facility without a license, according to a news release from the Crystal Lake Police Department.

Local police launched an investigation after receiving information from the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services regarding the battery to a child at a home in the 1400 block of Woodscreek Circle, according to the press release.

The child was injured and did require medical care but the injuries are not considered life-threatening, police said.

An investigation into the incident remains active and is still ongoing, according to authorities.
