Break-Ins, Drunk Driver, Traffic Citations: Darien Police Blotter

Take a look at what Darien police have been up to for the past week.

The following items were taken from the Darien police blotter throughout the past week. Arrestees are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

DUI

  • Kevin Chavez, 22, of Bolingbrook was stopped Jan. 30 for speeding, according to Darien police, and subsequently cited when the responding officer realized his license was suspended or revoked. He was also arrested after the officer realized he had been driving drunk. He’s expected in court Feb. 16 in Downers Grove.

Car burglary

  • A Darien resident living in the 600 block of Oldfield Road reported Jan. 31 that someone had gotten into their car sometime between 6 p.m. Jan. 30 and 12:30 a.m. Jan. 31. The car had been parked in the driveway and didn’t show any signs of damage post-break in. Nothing seemed to be missing, police said, and there were no signs of forced entry into the car. It’s unknown if the car was locked or not at the time of the alleged burglary.

Residential burglary

  • A resident living in the 1500 block of Royal Oak Road told police that sometime between 12 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Feb. 2, someone forced entry into their home through a back door. No items were reported missing after the break in.
