DARIEN, IL – Work is taking place at the intersection of Cass Avenue and North Frontage Road in Darien. A reader asked Patch about the nature of the construction. Patch emailed an inquiry to DuPage County's transportation division, which then referred it to the state Department of Transportation. The work started a couple of weeks ago and is expected to last a few more weeks, weather permitting, a state spokeswoman said. "They have been boring conduit and drilling foundations for the new mast arms/signal poles as part of a project to replace traffic signal equipment at various locations," spokeswoman Maria Castaneda said in an email.
