Darien Begins Free Leaf Collection Friday
Fall is officially here. Here's how to dispose of the leaves in your yard.

DARIEN, IL — Darien will begin a free leaf pickup program Friday, the city announced on Facebook. Now autumn is officially here.
The city will pick up leaves from Oct. 15 through Dec. 17. On your scheduled trash pickup day, put the leaves in either a yard waste bag or a can, with a yard waste identification label, and place it at the curb. No garbage sticker is needed. Plastic bags are not allowed.
Any other yard waste must have a garbage sticker attached. Residents are asked not to rake leaves into the street, because it can cause flooding.
