DARIEN, IL – A crash involving a Darien police car occurred early Tuesday evening, with the officer going to the hospital, police said. The officer was responding to a fire when the officer collided with another car at 75th Street and Fairview Avenue, Darien Deputy Police Chief Austin Jump said in an interview. The officer, who suffered a minor injury, was taken to the hospital, but was released later in the evening, Jump said. It was unclear how the driver of the other car was doing. Downers Grove, which has jurisdiction over the intersection, is investigating, Jump said. Patch left messages on Wednesday afternoon with Downers Grove police officials.
