Darien Crashes Result In DUI Arrests
In another case, a man fleeing officers was driving a car with out-of-state dealer plates, police said.

DARIEN, IL – Darien police released their latest blotter Thursday. Here is information from the reports:
DUI
- A 55-year-old Downers Grove man was arrested about 11:30 p.m. Saturday on charges of DUI, leaving the scene of a property damage accident and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Officers were called to a crash at 87th Street and Lemont Road. The man drove away, but was captured on camera. He was given a court date and released.
- A 22-year-old La Grange woman was arrested about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on charges of DUI, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and illegal transportation of alcohol. Police were called to a crash in the 8700 block of Lemont Road. Both cars were moved to the Darien-Woodridge fire station. The woman was given a court date and released.

- A 33-year-old Chicago man was arrested about 4 a.m. Saturday on charges of fleeing from a police officer, driving with a suspended license, driving an uninsured car, speeding and driving a car with foreign plates. Police said the plates were considered foreign under state law because they were out-of-state dealer plates (Wisconsin). Police said an officer saw the man speeding on 75th Street near Cass Avenue. The officer tried to stop the man, but he sped away on Route 83 and then entered Interstate 55. Another agency saw the car and stopped it. The man was given a court date and released.
Retail theft
- A 21-year-old Downers Grove woman and a Downers Grove youth were arrested about 3 p.m. Friday on retail theft charges. Police were called to Walmart, 2189 75th St., about the theft. Police said they pulled over the duo, who stole food items by concealing them. They were given court dates and released.
- A 32-year-old Naperville man was arrested about 4:30 p.m. Saturday on charges of retail theft, criminal trespass to property, fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, reckless driving and no valid registration. Police were called to Walmart, 2189 75th St., about a man loading a box with merchandise and leaving without paying. Employees tried to stop the man, but he got into a car and sped away. An officer tried to stop him, but he fled. Another agency found him. The man was given a court date and released.
- Police were called to a retail theft about 8:30 p.m. Sunday at Walmart, 2189 75th St. An employee said two people stole items. The value of the merchandise was $46.
