Darien Rotary Club thanks all for successful fundraiser!

On Tuesday April 29th, the Darien Rotary Club held their 40th annual fundraiser. This gala event featured casino games and food from local restaurants and was held at Alpine Banquets in Darien. Thanks to the support from our sponsors, restaurants, donors and attendees, the event was a financial success which will enable the club to continue their support of charitable activities in both their local communities as well as internationally. Some of these good works include:

• Early Childhood Literacy – a program by the Club in conjunction with local schools to provide books and learning materials to every preschooler in Darien and other communities.
• Scholarships – the club is awarding scholarships to two graduating seniors from Darien - one Hinsdale South High School and the other senior from Downers Grove South High School.
• Darien Historical Society – for the club’s 50th anniversary, the Club is rebuilding the front entryway, including the stairs, at the Old Lace Schoolhouse and Museum.

The 115 attendees at the Casino Night were feted with food donated by five local restaurants: La Dolce Vita (Lemont), Shanahan’s (Woodridge), Chuck’s Southern Comforts Café (Darien), Carrabba’s (Woodridge), and Alpine Banquets (Darien).
