Hinsdale South Teacher Reprimanded By School Board
The board unanimously voted for a "notice to remedy" for the teacher.

DARIEN, IL – The Hinsdale High School District 86 board issued a public reprimand last week for a Hinsdale South music teacher.
At Thursday's board meeting, members voted unanimously for a "notice to remedy" for teacher Chris Gumban. Members Liz Mitha and Asma Akhras were absent.
A graduate of Illinois State University, Gumban started at Hinsdale South in 2019. He previously worked at Metamora Township High School near Peoria.

Gumban's salary was $75,000 in the 2023-24 school year, according to the district's online compensation report.
Patch has filed a public records request about the reprimand and left a message for comment with Gumban on Monday morning.

Last month, the board issued a reprimand to a Hinsdale Central music teacher, alleging frequent tardiness.
