Women Twice Damage Car At Darien Restaurant: Cops
Burger, soda and eggs are among the objects used to damage a car, police said.

DARIEN, IL – In the last few days, Darien police handled cases involving disorderly conduct, damage, DUIs and retail theft. Here is information from the latest Darien police reports:
Disorderly conduct
- On Saturday, police were told about damage to a car at Home Run Inn Pizza, 7521 Lemont Road. Security camera footage showed that three nights earlier, three women in a car pulled up alongside an employee's vehicle and threw a cheeseburger with condiments and a cup of soda at the car, police said. Two nights later, the same group returned and poured a caramel-like substance on the car and threw eggs at it.
Damage

- A mailbox was found in multiple pieces about 12:30 a.m. Nov. 26 in the 7700 block of Brunswick Drive. Police were called because of suspicious noise.
DUI
- A 46-year-old Darien man who lives in the 300 block of Plainfield Road was arrested about 7 a.m. Sunday on charges of DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, driving an uninsured car, failing to reduce speed and having no front license plate. An officer responded to Country Lane for a crash. A witness told an officer that the driver ran from the car and jumped a fence. The officer saw the man about a block away, walking on Janet Avenue. The officer stopped the man. He was given a court date and released.
- A 23-year-old Downers Grove man was arrested about 1 a.m. Nov. 27 on charges of DUI, making an improper turn and using an unsafe tire. An officer saw the man in the 7400 block of Cass Avenue driving with a flat front passenger's side tire and crossing over lane lines, police said. He was given a court date and released.
- A 28-year-old Streamwood man was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Nov. 27 on charges of DUI and improper lane usage. Near 75th Street and Fairview Avenue, an officer saw the man travel slowly, then speed up and finally decrease his speed, police said. The man then turned onto Plainfield Road, crossing the center line and driving into oncoming traffic. He was given a court date and released.
Retail theft

- A 50-year-old Woodridge man was arrested about 3:30 p.m. Saturday on a retail theft charge. Police said an employee saw the man failing to scan all items at the self-checkout counter at Walmart, 2189 75th St. He was given a court date and released.
