DUI, Battery, Assault, Street Racing: Lake County Sheriff's Blotter

DEERFIELD, IL — The Lake County Sheriff’s Office made a series of arrests over the past week involving local residents and a variety of criminal charges.

Residents are reminded that the filing of criminal charges does not equate to a guilty finding and that all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

ARRESTS

Tashnae A. Armstrong, 24, Chicago, was arrested on Dec. 18 in the 300 block of Washington Street in Waukegan on a warrant out of Pope County. Armstrong is scheduled to appear in court in Pope County at a later date.

Michael P. Fecht, 40, Lindenhurst, was arrested on Dec. 18 at Route 41 and Wadsworth Drive in Wadsworth and charged with reckless driving. He was granted pre-trial release and will appear in court at a later time.

Nazar Podviryni, 34, Fox River Grove, was arrested on Dec. 18 at Route 22 and Route 59 in Lake Barrington and charged with driving under the influence and with no insurance. He was granted pre-trial release and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 7.

Diana I. Gallaga Mendoza, 29, Zion, was arrested on Dec. 18 on Beach Road and Creek Court in Beach Park and was charged with driving with a suspended license and without insurance. She was granted pre-trial release and is scheduled to return to court at a later time.

Julio Ayala, Jr., 23, Zion, was pulled over on Dec. 18 at Sheridan Road and Yorkhouse Road in Beach Park and was cited for driving without a license and insurance. He was granted pre-trial release and will appear in court at a later time.

Dennis R. Ramage, 31, Beach Park, was arrested at the Lake County Jail on Dec. 18 and was charged with battery. He is being held on other criminal charges and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 23.

John A. McGee, 29, Waukegan, was arrested at the Lake County Jail on Dec. 18 and was charged with battery. He is being held on other criminal charges and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 10.

Jacob Kofi, 21, Lindenhurst, was arrested at the Lake County Jail on Dec. 18 and charged with battery. He is being held on other criminal charges and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 9.

Nicholas M. Caban, 21, Highland Park, was arrested at the Lake County Jail on Dec. 18 and charged with battery. He is being held on other criminal charges and is scheduled to appear in court on March 19.

Cesar D. Morales, 25, Waukegan, was arrested at the Lake County Jail on Dec. 18 and charged with battery. He was granted pre-trial release and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 17.

Kenneth W. Kelly, 52, Round Lake, was arrested on Dec. 19 on Route 45 and Washington St. in Third Lake and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He was granted pre-trial release and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 31.

Joshua B. Kurtz, 49, unincorporated Spring Lake, was arrested on Dec. 19 in the 28900 block of South Avenue in unincorporated Spring Lake on a warrant for retail theft. He was granted pre-trial release and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 17.

Jacquez Stevenson, 29, Chicago, was arrested on Dec. 19 in the 400 block of Rt. 22 in unincorporated Lake Barrington on a warrant for aggravated assault out of Cook County. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later time.

Shawn E. Schuler, 39, Volo, was arrested on Dec. 20 in the 0-100 block of North County Street in Waukegan on a warrant for the violation of a protective order. He was granted pre-trial release and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 25.

Jasmine Gutierrez, 31, Park City, was arrested on Dec. 20 near Route 120 and Hunt Club Road in unincorporated Gurnee and charged with driving with a suspended license. He was granted pre-trial release and will appear in court at a later time.

Vontrell D. Williams, 29, Zion, was stopped on Dec. 20 in the 300 block of Grand Avenue in Waukegan and cited for driving with a revoked license and a suspended registration. He was granted pre-trial release and is scheduled to appear in court at a later time.

Edwin D. Hernandez, 23, Waukegan, was arrested on Dec. 20 and charged with aggravated speeding (112 mph in a 55 mph zone), reckless driving, and street racing. He was granted pre-trial release and is scheduled to appear in court at a later time.

Oscar Cruz, 46, Waukegan was pulled over on Dec. 21 and cited for driving without a license or insurance. He was granted pre-trial release and is scheduled to appear in court at a later time.

Patrick S. Kelly, 59, Mesa, Arizona, was arrested on Dec. 21 and charged with driving under the influence and alcohol and possession of a controlled substance. He was granted pre-trial release and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 16.

Colton W. Wold, Antioch, was stopped on Dec. 22 and cited for driving with a suspended license. He was granted pre-trial release and is scheduled to appear in court at a later time.

Alfredo Trujillo, unincorporated Round Lake, was arrested on Dec. 22 at 24800 Rollins Rd. in unincorporated Round Lake, and was charged with aggravated DUI, driving with a revoked license, open transportation of alcohol and driving with no insurance. He is being held in the Lake County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 18.

Michael F. Brennan, 39, unincorporated Lake Villa, was arrested on Dec. 22 in Lake Villa and charged with aggravated domestic battery. He is being detained in the Lake County Jail and was scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.

Edgar O. Pineda Pacas, 36, Waukegan, was stopped on Dec. 22 and cited for driving without a license and was granted pre-trial release. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later time.

Daniel R. Williams, 24, Fox Lake, was arrested on Dec. 23 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and without insurance. He was granted pre-trial release and is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 17.

Benjamin J. Merz, 37, Spring Grove, was arrested on Dec. 23 in Third Lake and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He was granted pre-trial release and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 10.

Philip J. Yates, 39, Libertyville, was arrested on Dec. 24 in unincorporated Grayslake and charged with aggravated DUI. He is being held in the Lake County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 4.

Yahir Flores Oropeza, 19, Palatine, was pulled over on Dec. 24 and cited for driving without a license and insurance. He was granted pre-trial release and is scheduled to appear in court at a later time.

Kendall D. Townsell, 22, Palos Hill, was arrested on Dec. 24 and charged with driving under the influence and with no insurance. He was granted pre-trial release and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 31.

Louis S. Vargas, 33, Palatine, was arrested on Dec. 24 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He was granted pre-trial release and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 31.
