Glickman Wins Senior Olympic Gold

With all the Olympic gold being handed out in London over the last two weeks, participants in the senior Olympics were not to be denied as Donna Glickman of Deerfield earned table tennis gold July 24 representing the at the Frisbee Center in Des Plaines.

A silver medal went to Howard Patterson, another Deerfield resident representing the Turner Center. “We congratulate the champions and all the participants, Turner Center Manager David Shamrock said in  a news release.

Other participants were Howard Berkowitz, Nick Karydakis, George Kino and Mike Libereles. The tables for the use of all Patty Turner Center members give them a place to practice.
