DUI

Gabriel Viti III, 22, of Deerfield was arrested Sept. 20 for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving an uninsured vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia and speeding, according to Deerfield Police reports.

Police clocked Viti driving 41 miles per hour in a 30-mile per hour zone near the intersection of Deerfield Road and Jonquil Terrace, according to the report. He was slow to respond to the squad car’ lights and siren, finally coming to a stop on Wilmot Road just north of Deerfield Road.

Viti walked slow and staggered after leaving the vehicle and a strong odor of alcohol was coming from his mouth, according to the report. He failed field sobriety tests and was unwilling to take a breath test. After he was arrested, police searched his car and found drug paraphernalia.

Viti was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 9 a.m. Oct. 24 in Waukegan.

Attempted Acquisition of a Controlled Substance

Rebecca Comito, 43, of Chicago was arrested Sept. 17 for attempted acquisition of a controlled substance, according to Deerfield Police reports.

Police received a call Sept. 17 from a person at the Deerfield Square Walgreens informing them a person was attempting to obtain a false prescription, according to the report. The prescription was filled the night before in Buffalo Grove and shipped to Deerfield. The pharmacist was suspicious, filled the prescription and informed others.

Police went to the store after being informed Comito was trying to obtain the prescription and confronted her. She was identified by a Walgreens employee. She was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 8:45 a.m. Oct. 17 in Waukegan.
