Village Honors Long-Term Staff

Three employees with 25 years of service each are feted by mayor and Village Board.

Three long term members of Deerfield’s municipal staff were honored for 25 years of service each to the Village at .

Rob Anderson was lauded for his efforts as a senior operator at the Water Operations Plant while Derek Gehrke has spent 25 years in the Public Works Department. Gehrke designed the computer system that enhances Deerfield’s water.

Bill Ernst has been with the Public Works Department. Among other things, Ernst is the person responsible for mapping the Village’s street lighting system. Several Trustees including William Seiden wanted something from Ernst.

“Can we get your apple pie recipe,” Seiden said. Ernst’s baking creation won first place last year at the Deerfield Farmers’ Market.
