Join us in February to explore a little-known story from the darkest moments of the Revolutionary War!
Author William Hazelgrove will discuss his book Morristown: The Darkest Winter of the Revolutionary War and the Plot to Kidnap George Washington. In the fall of 1779, after six years of war, George Washington led 10,000 Continental Army troops into winter quarters in Morristown, New Jersey. What followed was the harshest winter of the 18th century, marked by starvation, suffering, mutiny, treason, and a daring British plot against Washington himself. Discover a dramatic chapter of the Revolution that is as gripping as it is rarely told.
