1 Dead, 1 Hurt In 2-Car Crash In Downers Grove
Police say one person was killed in a crash that took place Friday around 7:30 p.m.
DOWNERS GROVE, IL — One person was killed and another person was hurt in a crash that took place in Downers Grove Friday night.
The two-car crash happened near the intersection of Butterfield Road and Gray Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Police say a pickup truck crossed the center median of Butterfield Road while it was traveling west near Gray Avenue. The truck then crashed into a sedan that was driving east on Butterfield, per a preliminary investigation.
The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. The pickup truck's driver was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening.

The sedan driver's name was not available as of Monday morning. The Downers Grove Police Department and the DuPage County Sheriff's Office MERIT major crash reconstruction team are investigating the crash.
