1 Person Hurt, Utility Pole Hit In Crash Near Downers Grove South

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A person sustained minor injuries in a crash that took place near Downers Grove South High School Monday evening. The crash happened just before 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of Dunham Road and 63rd Street, according to Deputy Chief Jim McGreal.

He said one of the drivers involved in the crash failed to yield while making a left turn and was cited by police. One of the cars struck a light pole in the crash, which caused the road to be closed for about 20 minutes, McGreal said.

One person was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for minor injuries; another person refused medical treatment. McGreal said there were no updates as to their condition as of Wednesday afternoon.
