Report of Attempted Child Luring Outside Downers Grove School Was 'Unfounded': Police
Investigators say they looked into a reported child luring to find that it was not a threat.

Local investigators have determined a "child luring" reported earlier this week to be "unfounded."
Downers Grove police investigated the alleged incident on Tuesday afternoon outside O'Neill Middle School, 635 59th St. Deputy chief Kurt Bluder stressed Wednesday that while there was no threat to any member of the public related to the circumstances, child safety is among the highest priorities of law enforcement officials.
“This is an opportunity for parents to review stranger danger awareness with their children,” he said. “If a child finds themselves in a dangerous situation, he or she should run to school or a familiar house and get help immediately from a staff member or an adult."
