125th Anniversary: Dead Presidents
Sun., June 19, 2:00 p.m.
Author, public radio host, and former DGPL staffer Brady Carlson joins us to talk about his new book, Dead Presidents: An American Adventure Into The Strange Deaths and Surprising Afterlives of Our Nation's Leaders. 38 of our presidents may be gone, but as Carlson writes, there's a world of monuments, memorials, and more around the dead presidents that's very much alive. He'll talk about the latest twists and turns in what he calls the "post-post-presidency," from the highs and lows of presidential libraries, to the deaths of funerals of recent presidents, to the town in Iowa that plays a sport named for Herbert Hoover.
