Downers Grove Rakes in Highest Rainfall Total in Illinois
August brought record rainfall totals to Illinois and Downers Grove had the most water of any other municipality in the state.
A statewide record rainfall in August included almost 2 feet of water in Downers Grove, which reaped the highest total in the state.
The wettest August on record in Illinois snared a statewide average of 6.89 inches or rainfall, according to the Northwest Herald. That value was about 3.3 inches more than normal.
The two-month total for July and August was the highest in Downers Grove, which recorded 22.93 inches of rain, the story said.
