Flexible Steel Manager Claims Skateboarders Cut $3,400 Worth of Metal Railing From Building

The facility manager for Flexible Steel on 2525 Wisconsin Ave. in Downers Grove reported Nov. 28 that when he arrived at work that morning, the metal railing to the front entrance of the building was cut off and laying in the bushes.

After reviewing security footage, the man said he’d noticed a male — age unknown — cutting the railing just before 11 p.m. Nov. 23.

The manager told police this is the second time something like this has happened this year, and said skateboarders were the offenders.

According to police reports, no suspects have been named yet.

The total value of damage to the railing is $3,400.
