Green Ribbons in Downers Grove in Memory of Anna Trent

Community members are tying green ribbons around trees in Downers Grove in memory of 4-year-old Anna Trent.

Downers Grove, IL — The Downers Grove community is showing support for the family of a 4-year-old girl who died June 19.

Anna Trent's favorite color was green, and in her memory many parkway trees are being adorned with ribbons in the hue of nature, energy, growth and healing.

The Rotary Club of Downers Grove is collecting donations for a bench in Anna's memory, to be placed in her favorite park. Donations may be put in collection jars at Rotary GroveFest from Thursday to Sunday.

After the bench is funded, additional donations will help the Trent family, according to the page.

"We are completely overwhelmed with the outpouring of generosity from our friends, family and community," Anna's parents, Katie and James Trent, wrote on the page. "Words cannot express how much this has lifted us up during this challenging time."

Visitation for Anna will take place June 23 with services held June 24. More information is available from Adolf Funeral Home.
