Guns, Knives, Bullets With Names Of 'Political Figures' Seized From Downers Grove Man: Complaint
The federal complaint said Michael D. Stover wrote the names of "five well-known U.S. political figures" written in marker on bullets.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A Downers Grove man faces federal criminal charges after threatening law enforcement and elected officials, according to a recently unsealed complaint from July 7. Michael D. Stover, 33, is accused of having five rifles, six handguns, a shotgun and ammunition in his home after a domestic disturbance call in May, the complaint said. Per the complaint, five of the bullets in Stover's home had the names of "five well-known U.S. political figures" written in marker on them.
According to the complaint, Stover used social media to post things that included, “we should be killing Ice [Immigration and Customs and Enforcement] agents on sight” and “I 700 percent am past that playtime shit. I mean kill the Nazi rapist pigs to the absolute last one and kill their friends and families too.... Hurt the people and get hunted like a rat until your last desperate minutes, which will be slow if I can help it.”
The complaint says that Stover posted an image on Facebook in early February that showed the five aforementioned bullets on top of a hunting knife. During a subsequent visit from Downers Grove Police at Stover's home, he said he did make the post, "expressed remorse for the post and stated he would rub the names off the bullets," per the complaint.

The complaint includes posts made between April 14 and May 7, including such phrases as "BTW I will not miss" and "They came to my f*****g house already. Theres [sic] a time for rhetoric and a time for riflery."
A Clear and Present Danger request for Stover was issued May 8, the same day Downers Grove police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at his home.
Per the complaint, Stover opened the door when police arrived and then immediately closed it. He is accused of having an "empty holster, a pocket knife and a full magazine on his hip" with his hands in the air when he reopened the door, the complaint said.
He is accused of throwing items, including throwing guns and knives at the door and threatening to kill one officer, and then refusing to surrender his weapons.
The complaint said FBI agents and a Crisis Intervention Sergeant interviewed Stover, who admitted he had posted threats against ICE on his Bluesky account and said he was getting help with his mental health.
Stover was released and was not charged in connection with the May 8 incident.
Stover is accused of making posts on Bluesky in June and July that included suggesting people "kill ICE agents on sight."
According to WGN, Stover was released from custody earlier this week, under the conditions he does not have weapons or devices that can connect to the internet. He has also been ordered to get psychiatric treatment and cannot leave his mother's home unless it's for court or an appointment that has been previously authorized.
