The 30-year-old was charged with several different offenses.
DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A Joliet resident who was initially arrested for speeding and causing a car accident Dec. 17 was also charged with illegal possession of a gun, police reported this week.
Police first found Mustafa J. Breizat, 30, on Ogden Avenue just east of Fairview Avenue around 10 p.m. last weekend when he was speeding and caused a traffic crash. Cops quickly found that Breizat didn’t have a valid driver’s license in any state and he was handcuffed, double locked and escorted into a police car.
When an officer opened the driver’s side door of Breizat’s Hyundai Elentra, he found a dark glove in the pocket of the door and, inside the glove, a silver and black Cobra semi-automatic handgun. There was one round of ammo in the gun, police said.
