DOWNERS GROVE, IL — The Downers Grove Liquor Commission recently approved an application for a full liquor license from Lao Sze Chuan, amid plans to reopen by fall. The restaurant at 1331 Ogden Ave. remains closed after a car crashed into the building and damaged an area near the restaurant's kitchen, per village documents.

At the Aug. 7 liquor commission meeting, management for Lao Sze Chuan explained that the restaurant's previous liquor license had lapsed after their account had not renewed it. Since that time, the restaurant changed ownership, per village documents.

The liquor commission gave their unanimous approval for a full liquor license. Village documents show that Lao Sze Chuan is working with the village on permits that will facilitate repairs to the damage caused by the crash.
