Lions Club Hosts Annual Halloween Parade, Trick-or-Treating Event Sunday

The parade will step off at 12:30, and after kids can trick-or-treat at participating downtown merchants from 1 to 4 p.m.

The Downers Grove Lions Club will host its annual children's Halloween Parade and trick-or-treating at downtown businesses Sunday.

Children are invited to meet in costume at 12:30 p.m. at the parking lot west of the Main Street Train Station. The parade will proceed down Main Street to Fishel Park.

After the parade, kids can trick-or-treat at participating downtown merchants from 1 to 4 p.m.

Downtown Halloween Window Painting: Kids in kindergarten through sixth grade are invited to help paint Halloween scenes on windows in the downtown from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. Bring a paint brush and pick up paints at 933A Curtiss St. Bring a non-perishable food item for F.I.S.H. pantry. Family Service Shelter's Seventh Annual Run/Walk: Family Shelter Service’s seventh annual run/walk  10K/5K will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 27, at Downers Grove North High School, 4436 Main St., Downers Grove. This year's theme is “Be a Hero for Hope,” and participants are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite hero or heroine. To register, visit www.familyshelterservice.org.
