How did the business come to be?

Our dental practice was founded in 1980 as a single dentist office. That office grew and Dr. Jeffrey Wascher eventually joined as co-owner. In 2009, Oral Health Care Professionals, LLC was born when I purchased the founder's half of the practice and went into business as partners with Dr. Wascher.

Why did you choose the area you did?

Downers Grove is simply one of the best towns in the western suburbs of Chicago! It has many fantastic qualities including a vibrant downtown area, beautiful homes, great schools, and easy access to highways just to name a few. Growing up in the western suburbs, I always knew I wanted to return to the area if possible.

What does the business offer?

Our dental practice is committed to providing true comprehensive family dentistry of quality and care unmatched by any other dental practice in the western suburbs of Chicago.

Our providers have invested thousands of hours in post-graduate dental education to ensure that our patients receive the most modern and appropriate treatment options available.

This additional education allows our office the ability to provide care and treatment from every specialty within the field of dentistry beyond that of a traditional general dental practice. From elective cosmetic dentistry to in-office advanced dental implant surgery to orthodontic treatment, our patients enjoy the convenience of receiving advanced treatment from every dental specialty within the comfort of a single office.

When indicated, we are proud to work with the best dental specialists in the Chicagoland area who function as an extension of our dental team. While our dental repertoire is lengthy and high-tech, our practice has never lost focus on who we are: a family dental practice for both adults and children. We love pediatric patients! 

For over 25 years, our office's free "Tooth Fairy Day" has prepared young children for their first dental appointment. I am proud to say that we are experiencing the second generation of "Tooth Fairy Day" children as our young patients from decades ago are now bringing THEIR children to meet the wonderful Tooth Fairy!

Have a little dental anxiety? Then take advantage of our licensed massage therapists who visit our office regularly on Wednesday and Friday mornings. All massage services are complementary to our patients and truly works wonders! Enjoy having your hands and feet massaged during your dental appointment and feel the anxiety melt away. After your appointment is complete, our massage therapists have a kneeling massage chair for patients in a quiet separate room where they can massage your neck and back.

In addition to massage therapy, we also offer Nitrous Oxide laughing gas during restorative dental treatments if desired. These are just a few examples of our patient-focused treatment style and how important you are to us.

What’s a fact about your business that most customers probably don’t know?

I am quite passionate about public dental health and volunteer/donated dental services.

Until its closing in mid-2011, I routinely volunteered at the DuPage Community Clinic (DCC) in Wheaton, and provided free dental care to low income residents of DuPage County. It was a wonderful organization that served the residents of DuPage County for over 16 years.

In March of 2013, the Chicago Dental Society (CDS) Foundation opened their own dental clinic to fill the void in public health when the DCC closed. The CDS Foundation Clinic is located at 416 E. Roosevelt Road, Suite #102 in Wheaton and provides free basic dental care to patients with proof of income below 200 percent of the poverty level and residency in Cook, Lake or DuPage counties. I'm proud to say I had my first of many volunteer days at the clinic in April.

In addition to the CDS Foundation Clinic in Wheaton, I'm an active participant with The DuPage County Health Department & The Walk-In Ministry of Hope offering greatly reduced and free dental work out of our Downers Grove office.

Through the Illinois State Dental Society, I have been honored to donate my services and help the public via their "Mission of Mercy" & "Give Kids a Smile Day" campaigns. I am very blessed to be part of this great profession and truly believe in "Paying it forward." Working with each of these organizations and events has been deeply satisfying and I am always looking for new ways to give back to those in need in and around DuPage County.

What’s your most popular product or service?

Children in our practice always get excited for our plush "Animal of the Month" contest. If the child is cavity free at his/her dental hygiene appointment, our perfect pediatric patient gets to enter their name into the monthly drawing for the fabulous Animal of the Month.

Children also love the different flavored polishing pastes they can choose at their cleaning appointment. Cookie-dough and bubblegum flavors are always big favorites.

Our adult patients love indulging in the complementary massage therapy during their appointments. Some even schedule their appointments on specific day and request a particular massage therapist...which is fantastic! Our patients are always our #1 priority!
