Man Fatally Struck By Metra Train In Downers Grove: Cops

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A man was fatally struck by a Metra train in Downers Grove near the Main Street stop Wednesday evening, according to police.

Witnesses told police they saw the man walking on the tracks between Washington and Main just before 6 p.m. when he was hit by a BNSF train heading westbound. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Downers Grove police say they are working with the Metra Police Department to assist in an investigation into the incident.
