Darien Man, 64, Found Dead In Car In Westmont Pond
Police say John Lynch, 64, was found dead inside a car that was found in a pond in Westmont Sunday morning.
WESTMONT, IL — A 64-year-old man was found dead Sunday morning inside a car that went into a pond in Westmont, police say. The man was identified as John Lynch, of Darien, according to the DuPage County Coroner's Office.
Emergency responders arrived in the 900 block of Oakmont Lane Sunday just after 10:30 a.m. after receiving a report of a car in the pond. The water rescue team located Lynch inside the submerged vehicle and removed him. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lynch's cause and manner of death were inconclusive as of Monday, per DuPage County Coroner Richard Jorgensen.

Members of the Downers Grove, Hinsdale, Lisle-Woodridge, Naperville, Warrenville and Tri-State Fire Departments provided assistance with response to the incident, as did DuPage County's MERIT crash reconstruction team.
Westmont Fire Department officials did not immediately respond to Patch's request for more information Monday morning.
