Puppies Are About to Take Over Downers Grove in a Holiday-Themed Parade

Nobody is going to want to miss this.

Mark your calendars — Smart Dogs Training and Lodging, a canine resort based in Downers Grove, is bringing the Polar Puppy Express to town Saturday.

A standing tradition, the Polar Puppy Express is exactly what it sounds like: a train full of puppies that parades through town while passing out treats and toys to other dogs and collecting donations for animal shelters.

According to Smart Dogs’ website, the procession will be collecting toys, blankets and food for local shelters as it make its way through Downers Grove.

Don't think it can get any cuter? Think again. The organization’s popular Labrador Retriever, Goose, is guaranteed to make an appearance, and, during winter, he’s known for pulling a sled full of his doggy friends across Smart Dogs’ five back acres of snow.

The parade will start at noon Dec. 17 and leave from the Smart Dogs B&B at 1206 Woodcrest Dr.
