Recycling Extravaganza Planned For Oct. 4 In Downers Grove
Residents can unload electronics, furniture, books and other items, most of which at no cost, during the event.
DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Downers Grove residents can unload unwanted furniture, electronics, clothing, bikes and more at a Recycling Extravaganza planned for Oct. 4 at the Belmont Train Station.
Most of the items can be donated for recycling at no cost. The event, hosted by Greener Grove, will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Below is a list of items that will be accepted at the Recycling Extravaganza.

- Bikes and bike accessories
- Books
- Clothing and textiles
- Electronics
- Furniture
- Glasses
- Medical equipment
- Personal documents to shred
- Prescription medicine
- Spray paint
Prepaid fees are applicable for computer monitors and flat-screen TVs that are more than 21-inches wide. Fees are also applicable for latex paints and can be paid onsite.
During the event, residents can also drop off food items and diapers to be donated to West Suburban Community Pantry.
