Woman Grabbed By Man While Jogging In Downers Grove: Police

The woman told police the man fled after she screamed. The incident took place near Brookbank Road and Maple Avenue.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — A woman was grabbed by a man while she was jogging in Downers Grove Friday afternoon, according to police.

The woman told police she was jogging in the 5400 block of Brookbank Road around 3 p.m. Friday when the man grabbed her by the hips. Police say the man fled to a car after the woman screamed.

The man was described as a Black male in his early to mid-thirties, standing around 5'11" tall. Police say the man had short black hair and was wearing a blue T-shirt that read "SAS" on its front and back, along with black pants and "bright white" Nike Air Max shoes.

The victim told police the man got into a four-door sedan that was dark gray and had a silver emblem on its rear side.

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Downers Grove Police Department at 630-434-5600. Police are encouraging nearby residents to check their video surveillance systems to see if they have footage that shows the suspect or his car.
