Woman Tries, Fails to Smuggle Tablet, Designer Headphones and More Out of Downers Grove Kohl's

A woman who tried to steal red Beats headphones, a premium tablet and two men’s shirts from Kohl’s Dec. 7 was caught and arrested for retail theft the same day.

Kennedy K. Braasch, 21, of Naperville, was detained when she was caught trying to smuggle the items out of the store under her coat, police reported. An employee had seen her try to hide the items on an in-store surveillance system.

The headphones Braasch tried to steal were priced at $150, and the white tablet was $70. The shirts she tried to steal were worth $52 total.

The items were returned to Kohl’s, which is located at 2920 Finley Rd. in Downers Grove.
