Walk for Warmth 2026

Event Details

First United Methodist Church, 516 Church St, Evanston, IL, 60201

Mark your calendars! Please join us for Interfaith Action of Evanston’s Walk for Warmth on Martin Luther King Day, Monday January 19th, starting with a short program at 11 a.m. inside First United Methodist Church, 516 Church St. in Evanston. Walking together, we are a physical embodiment of Dr. King’s vision of the beloved community. His commitment to service is reflected in the route we take past the many faith communities that house Interfaith Action’s overnight shelter. Whether in person or in spirit through a donation, you can help raise awareness and provide a warm, safe, and welcoming place for our unhoused neighbors to sleep on cold winter nights. This year, for the first time, there are two options for walking: The two-mile walk past the many churches that host the shelter or the around-the-block walk. For more information, to register to walk and donate, go to the Walk for Warmth website. There is no charge to register. FUMC will be open beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Jan. 19.
