EP Candlelight Theatre Kicks Off Season With 'Candlelight Cabaret'

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Don’t sit alone in your room, come to “Candlelight Cabaret” this Saturday, Jan. 25. The Evergreen Park Recreation Department is kicking off its 2025 theatrical season with a mix of music and refreshments.

The Cabaret is a one-night-only concert featuring a variety of songs ranging from Broadway, pop and perhaps some classical. All performers are local talent and the show begins at 7pm. at Evergreen Park Senior Center, 9547 S. Homan Ave., Evergreen Park.

Wine and an appetizer reception follow the concert, where guests can nosh on cheese, crackers, sweets and other delicious starters. Wine will be served, as well as water and soft drinks. The evening is intended for an adult audience, although there is nothing at all in the show that would be inappropriate for younger audience members.

All this takes place in the auditorium of the Evergreen Park Senior Center where the Candlelight Theatre program has made its home for ten years now.

Advance reservations for the show are a must, as seating is limited. Tickets can be purchased at the Evergreen Park Community Center, 3450 W. 97th Street during regular business hours, 9 .am. to 5 p.m.

Reservations can be phoned in to 708-229-3365. However, the priority seating will only go to pre-paid reservations.

The producer will also take the time that evening to announce the full Candlelight Theatre season, which includes a classic mystery, a fully-staged radio show performance of a popular story, a youth theatre musical. . . and a special collaboration between the theatre and the Evergreen Park Historical Commission.
