EVERGREEN PARK, IL — Nick is a twenty-nine year old Marketing Coordinator who spends every Sunday with his two sets of adoring, doting, yet overwhelming grandparents. When he announces that a job offer will force him to move out of town, they conspire to force him to change his mind…with unexpected results.

Such is the premise of the comedy-drama “Over The River and Through The Woods”, which is the latest theatrical offering of the Evergreen Park Recreation Department Candlelight Theatre.

The play opens on Thursday, April 25 for a run of four performances on the main stage of the Evergreen Park Senior Center, 9547 S. Homan Avenue in Evergreen Park.

“I have done several productions of this play, and it is absolutely wonderful,” Gannon saod. “At times it is hilariously funny and yet, at times, incredibly moving. For a small, intimate theatre, such as what is offered by the Recreation Department Candlelight Theatre, it is the perfect play.”

The recreation department's Candlelight Theatre program is now in its tenth year, offering a variety of plays, youth musicals and vocal concerts throughout the year.
