The new hockey program for kids ages 4-9 at the Daniel V. Capuano Ice Rink at Yukich Fields starts Saturday, Jan. 4 and runs 6 to 8 weeks.

EVERGREEN PARK, IL — The Evergreen Park Recreation Department is introducing a new youth hockey camp for 4 to 9-year-olds at the Daniel V. Capuano Ice Rink at Yukich Fields, 89th Street and Kedzie Avenue.

The “Little Blackhawks” is a hockey camp for younger kids interested in how to play hockey and other basic skills. The six to eight-week program will run on Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. starting Jan. 4. Kids need not be Evergreen Park residents to participate.

"This is a new program for our rink," said Mike Huguelet, director of the Capuano ice rink. "It's an introduction to hockey with a focus on skating and other fundamentals of the game."
