25-Year-Old Woman Dies In I-290 Crash: Police

MAYWOOD, IL — A 25-year-old Chicago woman died Monday in an overnight crash on the Eisenhower Expressway, according to police.

The incident occurred just after midnight on eastbound Interstate 290 at First Avenue in Maywood, when the woman’s 2008 Ford Fusion struck the back of a 2017 Chevrolet Impala driven by a 58-year-old Maywood woman, state police said.

The Fusion then rolled over and hit the endcap of the right median crash barrier, according to police, who said the driver from Chicago was pronounced dead at the scene but the Maywood woman was not injured.
