Animal Rights Organization Offers $2,500 Reward in Burning of Kitten

A kitten was badly burned in a Forest Park alley in July. It died less than a week after being found.

A kitten named Sprouts was found badly burned in a Forest Park alley in mid-July and one animal rights organization wants to bring justice to anyone responsible for the brutal attack on the animal. The group is called In Defense of Animals and is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to charges in the crime, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Forest Park police are investigating the case and said that Sprouts was found badly burned in an alley on July 13. Sprouts was taken to a Chicago shelter but he died less than a week later.

"Rewards do often result in tips and spur authorities to action and draw attention to egregious cases of animal cruelty where everything else has been tried," said Fleur Dawes, communications director of In Defense of Animals, in the story.
